Hand forged by Theobalt B. Schaffer.
He ran a small shop making ice tongs at 1014 East Nineteenth St. in KC.
As of 1927 he was selling between 3500 and 4000 pairs a year and shipping all over the country.
He died in 1942 at age 87.
Tool for carrying ice blocks with a center handle connected to the tongs with links.
The tool has the name T. B. Schaffer stamped into both arms of the tool, near the joint. However, the "T." is just barely visible
15" inch max opening.
Overall closed dimensions 18" long X 9" wide
Very good condition, arms move freely.
