Straight out of the 1950s, here’s a rare Rushton Company plush doll in that unmistakably quirky “gingerbread/clown” style. Tagged Rushton on the side seam. Features a wool felt cap with pom top, stitched black eyes, and a red pom nose. Plush body has that mohair-like texture Rushton fans know and love.
This one shows its age — some wear to the plush, fraying at the seams, and a faded but present tag (see photos). Call it well-loved, call it haunted, call it collectible gold.
Rushton toys never looked quite like anyone else’s, and that’s why collectors hunt them down. This is a genuine piece of mid-century toy history, ready for its next home.
