These are not new, but they are Tsumege (boxwood) Komu (Shogi pieces) with Minase-bori (Minase style carving).
They are a higher grade than the general "Ue-bori" (upper-carving) pieces.
The inscription reads "Minase, in-signature, by Yamagami."
There are various "Yamagami," and there are pieces marked "Yamagami" and "Yamagami-saku" (made by Yamagami). When the signature is carved, "Yamagami-saku" pieces are more expensive and of higher quality.
Many inexpensive items have printed (printed signature) inscriptions.
Please be aware that returns are not possible as Shogi pieces are often swapped.
There are no spare pieces, but there shouldn't be a problem if you don't lose any.
* One "Fu" (pawn) piece has chamfered edges on both sides.
There are 40 pieces, not 41.
