To make it easy to hold, the shape is designed to be widest slightly closer to the mouthpiece than the center.

The surface is sanded with progressively finer sandpaper, up to 1000 grit. This gives it a moderate sheen while still allowing you to feel the natural texture of the wood.

The surface is carefully cut and checked repeatedly to ensure there are no imperfections.

The finish uses Kinu-ka oil. The main ingredient is rice-derived, tasteless, odorless, and gentle on the skin.

★ Karín Ko-haku (Padauk Burl, Red and White)
Karín is a hardwood from the Fabaceae (bean) family, genus Pterocarpus.
It has various patterns created by the complexly interwoven grain. It is a burl material that can only be harvested from a part of the root. Because of its high density, it is very hard and durable. The state where the reddish part (red) and the white wood (the white part of the sapwood) are mixed has a contrasting color that has artistic value.
