Vintage two rooster egg cup holders. They were made in Japan in the 1950’s. Fannie Farmer is written on the base of the egg cups They are made of ceramic and hand painted. They measure 2 1/2 inches tall 3 1/2 inches long. The opening measures 2 inches in diameter and the base measures 1 3/8 inches in diameter. They show their age but there’s no cracks no breaks no scratches. The earliest images of egg cups appeared in Turkish mosaic dating 3A.D. they were egg cups found in ruins of Pompeii from 79 A.D.. Collecting egg cups is called POCILLOVY.
