A GREAT PIECE OF HISTORY AND ONCE IN A LIFETIME CHANCE FOR A COLLECTOR!
INCREDIBLE ESTATE SALE FIND! WW1 gadget cane. It has a brass handle with the RFC mark. The "ROYAL FLYING CORPS" existed from 1912-1918. At first it was used for reconnaissance and artillery observation (via planes and balloons) but later battled German planes in war.
THERE IS MUCH INFORMATION ONLINE REGARDING THIS WW1 BRANCH OF BRITISH MILITARY. It preceded the RAF (Royal Air Force). I WOULD SUGGEST RESEARCHING IT AS IT IS VERY INTERESTING.
The cane is 35 3/4" long and is very well made...strong etc. The brass has light signs of age only with one ding on the very top of the brass handle. The wood has no cracks or chips. The cane separates and functions as intended.
